Before you make any assumptions, this is not a success story or about how I earned thousands of dollars writing. But rather, this is about my experience as a Tech Journalist in Sri Lanka. Yes, that place where Dilmah tea comes from.

I’ve always been fascinated by technology and the many stories from the industry. My fascination turned into an obsession when I started following digital media channels like The Verge and Techcrunch. Back in 2014, I thought to myself, “If only we had something like that in Sri Lanka”. Coincidently, in the same year, I saw a YouTube video about a Sri Lankan electric supercar in the works. It was by one called “ReadMe.lk”.

Fast forward to 2020, I now look back on a grateful five years as a Tech Journalist at ReadMe.lk. To be clear, five years is not that long of a stint. But it is the perfect place to be when you’re in a field that’s changing at such a rapid pace.

Content is the king as long as SEO is the queen
